This Privacy Policy describes how Big Blue Doors, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use CaseVine ("Service") at casevine.ai.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Email address (when signing up for a trial API key or paid account)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically:

• API usage logs (search queries, timestamps, response times, cache hit/miss status)
• IP addresses (used for rate limiting on the anonymous demo)
• Browser and device information for the web interface

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service
• To issue and manage API keys
• To enforce rate limits and acceptable use policies
• To send transactional emails (key delivery, billing receipts)
• To detect and prevent abuse

3. Search Query Data

Names submitted through the API are logged for billing, caching, and abuse detection. We do not sell search query data to third parties. Cached search results are used to reduce PACER costs and improve response times for all users.

4. Analytics

In plain English: CaseVine uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with pseudonymous user IDs for product analytics. No personally identifiable information (PII) is sent to Google.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. When you are signed in, we tag your activity with a pseudonymous account ID — a random identifier, not your name or email — so we can measure product usage without telling Google who you are. We do not use this data for advertising.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Stripe (payment processing)
• Supabase (database infrastructure)
• Vercel (hosting infrastructure)
• Google Analytics (product usage analytics)
• Law enforcement when required by law

6. Data Retention

API usage logs are retained for 12 months. Account information is retained for the duration of your account plus 90 days after termination.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted secrets management, and role-based database access. No security system is perfect and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing legal@casevine.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
